10.4. Meta - Setting Up Your Account
Updated over a week ago

You’ll only have 2 campaigns:

  • Core conversions

  • ASC campaign

NOTE:

If your budget is less than £120 ($150) a day, then you only need core conversions

Meta holds learnings at the campaign level, NOT the account level.

This means new campaigns start from scratch with zero data.

So you want almost all of what you do within one core campaign (ASC is different, this is a campaign type, so it needs its own campaign, which is fine).

So whereas pre-2020, almost everything was done in its own campaign, you now want to have almost everything in one, to consolidate learnings for the algorithm to optimise with.

1. Core conversions:

Within your core conversion campaign, you want 2-4 ad sets (less budget, less ad set. Less data (account history) also less ad sets).

Ad sets:

  • Broad (0 targeting, yes, absolutely non)

  • Interest (a maximum of 5 audience interests added)

Lookalike (if you have an email list, a collection of purchasers, website visitors, etc, go to the audience tab on the left-hand side menu and create audience > lookalike.

Add in your customer data list, and pick between 1-5%; this is how similar the audience is to your list, 5% being broader)

Retargeting

When you create an ad set, scroll down to ‘audience’, or it may be called ‘advantage+ audience’ if you see that, press “switch to original audience options” (advantage+ audience sucks), and then add your data to the fields
